Have you noticed all the random stickers suddenly appearing on Lime bikes around Sydney?
I’ve been spotting them everywhere lately. Little custom designs, quirky illustrations, brand logos, and the occasional cheeky message stuck right on the scooters. It’s like the city’s bikes have become a rolling art gallery (or a very mobile billboard).
It made me smile… and then it made me think.
What a brilliant, low-budget way to get eyes on your brand.
In a world where everyone is fighting for attention on Instagram and Google, these stickers are literally riding around on every street, hitting footpaths, bike lanes, high-traffic areas all day long. It’s grassroots, unexpected and strangely effective.
This got me wondering: How long until Lime themselves realise they’re sitting on incredibly valuable advertising real estate?
Imagine Lime officially offering branded sticker spots, wrapped scooters, or even sponsored “canvas” bikes across Australia. It would be advertising that’s:
- Hyper-local yet nationwide
- Moving and impossible to scroll past
- Actually fun and memorable
It’s a perfect example of thinking outside the box and turning something ordinary into an unexpected marketing opportunity.

Look for the overlooked spaces
What everyday objects in your world could become mini-billboards?
Lampposts, coffee cups, delivery bikes, shopping bags… the best ideas often hide in plain sight so sometimes it’s best to step back and analyse from a distance what could turn into the perfect marketing opportunity.

Guerrilla doesn’t have to mean risky
The best street-level marketing feels playful rather than spammy.
Custom stickers, clever packaging or cheeky collaborations can get you noticed without annoying people and before you know it people are recognising your brand subconsciously in everyday ways.

Bold + Consistent Wins
Even if you go the this route, make sure it ties back to your brand identity.
A strong, recognisable design (think bold colours, geometric patterns, or your signature style) makes random marketing materials feel intentional. Also, make sure you look at items that your target market would actually use and find useful/valuable.

We love this kind of creative thinking.
